We are a highly dedicated team of Danish teachers. We work closely together to ensure that you get the exact input that you need and work with the best teaching resources.
My passion is helping newcomers in Denmark to integrate into the Danish society and to ultimately feel at home which I believe happens through learning the language and about the culture.
I started Kartoffeldansk up in 2017 as I did not feel that the settings in the public language schools were optimal for teaching.
I have a masters degree in teaching Danish as a second language for adults from Copenhagen University as well as in history and cultural encounters from RUC in which I focused on integration, culture clashes and the use of language.

I have both a professional and personal passion for the process of learning a new language and its many relations with both culture and identity. Therefore, I love to teach Danish as a second language and support newcomers in feeling integrated into the Danish culture and society.
From my own life in a bilingual family, with my husband and kids, I know the importance of language in feeling a part of the place you live. Besides my personal engagement in language, I have a master’s degree in Spanish language and Culture & Danish as a second language from the University of Copenhagen.
I am happy to teach Danish at Kartoffeldansk, where the small groups make it possible to focus on each student; their level, wishes and situation.

My primary goal as your Danish teacher is to create a safe and informal classroom setting, where we together work towards your personal goals with the Danish language.
My teaching perspective is to give the people I teach the best possibilities to speak and write Danish in a real-life context and not only to pass a module test. You can therefore expect a lot of fun and relatable everyday content and everyday language in my classes. Danish classes should never be boring and confusing, but fun and rewarding!
I have a master's degree in Danish from the University of Copenhagen where I chose to specialize myself in Danish as second language. The reason why I chose this path is because I love to work with people from all around the world. It’s so meaningful to see people progress and to hear that they actually did order that coffee in Danish or small talked with their Danish colleagues at lunch.
You’ll find our little language school quite different from the big public schools. Here we have time to get to know the people we teach, to have a lot of repetition and to customize the lessons to your needs. And we do it with a good cup of coffee or tea in a cozy environment!

I have a master’s degree in Danish language and cultural encounters from RUC. Through my education I have focused on cultural hybridity and the use of language. I have taught students at all ages about culture and language with a focus on Greenland for years, and I love meeting different people and communicating stories about culture and language.
I have a passion for understanding cultural nuances that every Danish learner brings to the classroom. I draw on cultural nuances as part of teaching the Danish language by relating the learning process to familiar concepts and understandings. I believe that the intimate setup at Kartoffeldansk allows this sort of attention to the students.

I am excited to take part in your process of learning the Danish language and culture. I hope to make your language acquisition a process where you not only learn a language but also gain the skills and confidence to play with your own learning and become more knowledgeable about yourself, culture and all the things we share. I have a bachelor's degree in Intercultural Education and Danish as a second language, where I have focused extensively on learning communities, learning processes, and particularly the highly complex Danish language. This was where my interest in how technology and games can be used as tools in learning a new language emerged, leading me to pursue a master's degree in IT, Learning, and Organizational Change. I believe the settings at Kartoffeldansk can turn language acquisition into a playful process, where we explore the Danish language and culture together. Let's create an engaging learning community where curiosity and motivation are the key elements.
