Danish Teacher & Administration
Danish teacher
My passion is helping newcomers in Denmark to integrate into the Danish society and to ultimately feel at home which I believe happens through learning the language and about the culture.
I have taught Danish to expats since 2015 and have previously worked as a Danish teacher at Københavns Sprogcenter and CLAVIS. I started Kartoffeldansk up in 2017 as I did not feel that the settings in the public language schools were optimal for teaching. I was contacted by Novo Nordisk, that was interested in hiring me as a freelance teacher. This was how Kartoffeldansk was started up.
I have a masters degree in teaching Danish as a second language for adults from Copenhagen University as well as in history and cultural encounters from RUC in which I focused on integration, culture clashes and the use of language.

I have both a professional and personal passion for the process of learning a new language and its many relations with both culture and identity. Therefore, I love to teach Danish as a second language and support newcomers in feeling integrated into the Danish culture and society.
From my own life in a bilingual family, with my husband and kids, I know the importance of language in feeling a part of the place you live. Besides my personal engagement in language, I have a master’s degree in Spanish language and Culture & Danish as a second language from the University of Copenhagen.
I am happy to teach Danish at Kartoffeldansk, where the small groups make it possible to focus on each student; their level, wishes and situation.

I have taught Danish as a second language to foreigners for many years and I love working with people from all over the world. It's a privilege. I went to a language school myself in Rome and Paris when I lived there when I was young and I therefore know how difficult and exciting it is to get to know a new language and culture.
My approach is therefore to always be curious about a student's culture and language and to together find a way as well as good stategies to approach it. It's a shared journey where we experience something new together.
I have a masters degree in Italian and Theatre Studies and a diploma degree in teaching Danish as a second language.

My most important goal in my job as a Danish teacher is to give the people I teach the best possibilities to speak and write danish in real life and not only to pass a test or to be good in the classroom. In a safe and comfortable way, we work together towards your personal goals with the Danish language.
I’ve got a bachelor degree in Danish and when I’m not teaching Danish at Kartoffeldansk, I’m taking my master in teaching Danish as a second language for adults in Copenhagen University.
I started teaching at UCplus but moved to Kartoffeldansk because of the small classes where everyone is seen and helped in the way they need in a safe and cosy environment.
From my perspective, Danish and Danish classes should not be boring and confusing, but fun and rewarding.
